Having worked with Rock on the Mount for four years, I’m quite eager to promote my other passion: folk music. Right now I’m working on the details for Folk on the Mount, which will feature artists from Mountain Bible Church. The event will be held Oct. 16, tentatively at the park where Rock on the Mount is hosted. It will be a free event, but donations will be accepted for my upcoming Africa trip. I may also sell my CD. Stay tuned for details.

Some years ago, when I picked up the guitar, I played a rough version of Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind” at Camp Victory. I can’t say that I played well then; in fact, I played quite awfully, then knowing only three or four chords. Over the years, I’ve improved, even writing music. At this year’s end-of-the-camp “extravaganza,” I played one of my own:

1. Peacemakers
